U.S. President Barack Obama demonstrated the power of words during an appearance with Jay Leno. The commentary that was made with regards to the Special Olympics was clearly unscripted.
While joking on The Tonight Show about his bowling skills (during his campaign trail he shamefully scored 37 in a game), President Obama said he’d been practicing at the White House.
He told Jay Leno that he bowled 129 in the bowling alley at the White House and said his bowling skills are “like Special Olympics or something.”
Special Olympics president Lum was quoted saying, what Obama said on The Tonight Show adds to the discussion that’s needed to promote awareness and has proved “an unbelievably significant and critically teachable moment.” From playgrounds to the “top rungs of our leadership, including our president,” he said Americans have plenty to talk about and learn when it comes to stereotypes and how words can trulystab.
Not only should Americans take this advice seriously , but the rest of the World should also beware. We can forgive Barack Obama as people do make mistakes.

This interview like so many other interviews by Raymond Aaron the ultimate goal setting coach leads us down the suitable path. The words we use not only touch the people around us but also ourselves. Yvonne teaches us how to use words to manifest what we want in our personal and business lives.
There is true power in our words. We need to pay more care to the words we use especially when we are talking to ourselves and our children. That old rhyme “sticks and stones will break my bones but names will never hurt me”, no longer applies. We now actualise that we can do eminent harm to people in general and our family, with the words we use.
