Almost everything in life has a start and an end. The beginning of a stunning sunrise always ends with an amazing sunset. A meeting normally commences with “hello” and ends by saying “goodbye.”
In Korean, there are several ways of saying “goodbye.” Whenever responding to your friends and individuals close to you, you could use the casual expression. On the other hand, there is a formal way of saying farewell that is used whenever talking to those older than you. To figure out the sort of “goodbye” that you should use whenever responding to a person, identify the social status of the person in relation to you. While a very simple hand wave accompanying “an Annyeong” is all that is necessary when speaking with a close friend or a person of the same or lower social position. Given that both of you have the same societal position, no bowing is necessary.
When you say bye to someone, frequently you also use a couple of expressions. The following are some of the expressions you may use in addition to the “bye” when conversing with someone close to you. To say that you will miss the person, say “Bogoshipeulguhya.” The expression “Jal itsuh” is an expression which means “Be careful.” If you still have a few unfinished business with the person, say “Najoonge yhunlakhe” if you want to say “Call me later.”
Now, let us look at a few expressions that are used when conversing with someone who has a higher societal standing such as parents, mentors and more mature loved ones. Bear in mind that courteous expressions are to be employed always. The word “Bogoshipeuguheyo” is employed if you want to say to the person that you will miss him or her. The phrase “Nareul itjimaseyo” is employed to say to the person not to forget you. To say “Please call me afterward,” you should say “Najoonge yhunlakheyo.” A number of phrases in the Korean language are associated with telling someone farewell.
Great beginnings ought to have good endings, hence if you began a conversation with a pleasant greeting then there is no rationale for you not to finish it with good goodbye.
